Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a preparation of concentrated platelets in blood plasma that also contains restorative growth factors. It is used to promote collagen synthesis and skin repair. PRP has several therapeutic uses, including treating acne scars, surgical scars, and pigmentation, dark circles under the eyes, volume loss, wrinkles, fine lines, and crepey skin. It is either injected into your skin at specified depths in accordance with your skin needs or via dermapen micro needling, which ultimately results in the PRP being absorbed by your skin.

One hour before treatment, topical numbing lotion is applied to the target area to lessen the pain. And although the procedure has minimal to no adverse effects, PRP injection may still result to some bruising. This will eventually subside in a few days.
